Morning Star Academy is a classical Christian school with approximately 256 students from Pre-K through 12th Grade.

Currently Hiring for:

Lower School Teachers

We are currently seeking Fifth and Sixth grade teachers.  Candidates must be professing Christians in agreement with our mission, philosophy, and goals.

Upper School Science Teacher

This individual enjoys the sciences and desires to share that joy in the classroom. The subjects to be taught are physical science, earth science, biology, chemistry and possibly physiology and anatomy. The classroom size will range from 8 to 18 students in middle school and high school. Being a classical Christian school, we have the unique opportunity to not only lecture, but to engage students in conversation about their subject matter. A science degree is a must, and a teaching degree is optional—but a bonus.

Upper School Mathematics Teacher

This individual will help train and cultivate the critical and logic thinking skills of our students. This full–time Upper-Level math position includes teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2 courses in a classical manner.

Upper School English Teacher - Part Time

Art Teacher - Part Time

This individual will be responsible for teaching the elements of art, basics of drawing, principles of design, and other mediums. We also are looking for this teacher to guide our students to observe and understand the great works of art that have been set forth throughout history.

Athletic Director

We are currently seeking an Athletic Director to oversee the extra-curricular athletic program and ensure that all athletic programs are conducted in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, philosophy, and goals of the school. The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of middle/high school sports programs and be a college graduate.

Some of the primary responsibilities are:

  • Cooperate with the Board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school athletic program.

  • Develop and coordinate all middle/high school athletic programs of Morning Star Academy.

  • Maintain inventory of all athletic equipment, uniforms and supplies, including ordering, maintenance and assignment of such athletes.

  • Secure coaches and officials.

  • Assist with fundraising activities to support the athletic programs.

  • Liaison with the Iowa High School Athletic Association, ensuring that all applicable rules and regulations are followed.

  • Attend all home game activities.

Librarian - Part Time

The librarian will oversee the library/resource center of Morning Star Academy and be responsible for the selection and purchase of books and materials in accordance with the Morning Star Academy library materials selection policy.
