Athletics
MSA is proud to offer dedicated junior and senior high school sports teams for Boys & Girls Basketball and Girls Volleyball.
Morning Star Academy has a co-operative agreement with Bettendorf Middle School and Bettendorf High School. All Logic (7th-8th) and Rhetoric (9th-12) School students can compete at Bettendorf in sports that Morning Star Academy does not offer.
Morning Star Academy desires our students to grow through relationships, excellence and service.
Morning Star Academy was established to provide an education that honors God and teaches every subject from a biblical perspective.
Our Athletic program is based on the same philosophy. Athletics play a big role in much of today's society. The challenge before the coaches, athletes and fans is to understand how God's word applies to this area of life and to learn how to apply the biblical principles in a practical manner.
"Conduct yourself in word and action the same way as Jesus Christ would conduct Himself” (Col. 3:17).
Some might ask if this concept then makes winning on the scoreboard of no importance. The answer is no; it simply puts it in proper perspective. For example, one objective for coaches coaching below the varsity level is to provide game experience for each participant.
It is the desire of the athletic department for every team or individual competing for Morning Star Academy to experience the thrill of winning games and rising to one's full potential. But more importantly, the goal of the athletic department is to do everything in a manner honoring and glorifying to God.
